Assembly from A to Z!
Assembly is often seen as the final step in the production phase, but putting together individual parts into a complete product doesn’t begin only at the end. To achieve a good product and an efficient production process, we include the assembly phase from the very beginning. We’d like to show you what benefits this brings
Handing over the entire manufacturing process, from engineering to final product and even shipping to the end customer, may sound like a big step, but it pays off in many ways. Outsourcing assembly to the production partner is a choice that is increasingly being made. In doing so, the external partner becomes an extension of your own workshop.
By outsourcing the entire process to one producer, various advantages arise. Think of fewer transport movements, faster decision-making because you deal with only one point of contact for the entire process, and quality improvements because assembly is considered from the beginning also known as design to assemble.
Procurement Advantage
Because the entire production chain, from A to Z, is housed within one company, procurement is also handled by a single party. Thanks to the broad business operations of Pillen Group, strong agreements with many suppliers allow for quick action in the purchasing process. This not only saves time but also offers financial benefits
Minimal delay
Besides cost and time benefits, it is also qualitatively interesting to outsource assembly to the same company. If changes are made during the design or production process, it affects assembly. When everything is handled by the same party, adjustments are immediately included so that delays in the production process are minimal.

Final Inspection
At Pillen Group, we have further professionalized our assembly departments as part of this integration. For various customers, we already perform assembly work. For one client, we don’t manufacture all parts ourselves, but we assemble them into a complete product delivered by other suppliers. For another partner, fully finished products leave our facility in Lichtenvoorde and travel directly around the world.
This also means that final inspection and packaging take place at our location
Quality
This approach does require trust from all parties involved. We enjoy working with the customer to find the best collaboration method. This may mean that our colleagues work with checklists and assembly specifications provided by the customer. But we can also help set up a good quality control. That doesn’t mean the doors are closed afterward customers are always welcome to watch and contribute their ideas. The door is always open!
Dedicated Department
It’s also possible to go one step further. For one client, we even set up a completely dedicated assembly department. Due to internal relocations, space became available at one of our locations, allowing the client to fully integrate their assembly at our site.
Here, our team works very closely with this customer’s technical experts to create a fully assembled product together a great example of optimized supply chain integration.
Scalability
Moreover, performing assembly in-house is practical in case of scaling up. Everyone knows the situation: there is high demand in the market and suddenly an extra series needs to be produced. Because all production steps from A to Z are handled in-house, quick adjustments are possible..
